Well we have had a busy couple of weeks.
Ashley - She got her base changed she is now going to Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, NM. She is very excited about it, as it will give her a better ability to get over to Idaho and be able to get back to Washington. She will be leaving for that base on Feb. 28th. She is going to try and take leave this summer and come home or during Christmas, we will have to see what she is allowed. Dave is going to talk to one of his friends in New Mexico who owns a car dealership so she can get a decent used vehicle. It is kind of nice that she is in New Mexico as if anything major happened Dave has some friends that can get to her in case of an emergency. She is definitely starting to become an adult and sometimes it is hard for me to believe that she has matured so quickly.
Krista - She has been doing some work with Peer Helpers, which is a group from school that works with special Olympics athletes. They take them out and help them during their events and play games with them. She is really enjoying it and Dave and I are extremely proud of her for participating in this event. She is taking a distance learning Spanish class so if she can complete it before school starts next August then she will be eligible for Spanish 3 as a junior. She has picked out her classes already for next year and she is taking a heavy load of hard classes again next year, we know she will do well she is a smart kid. Softball is right around the corner and the first official practice starts right after spring break in March. Krista has been filling out job applications and hoping to be able to get a job so she can earn a bit of extra money.
Dave - He has been racing and working on snow machines the past couple of weekends. He has been doing pretty good in his single cylinder snow machine, but not doing so hot on the 440 machine that he won the championship with last year. They have changed the races up to ice races this year and moved away from the cross country races they did last year. So by the end of the year if he is lucky he will have a championship jacket for the single cylinder class.
He is working on learning GIS software which is a graphic mapping software used by his office. He is also working on learning python programing to go with the GIS software. We are hoping that this will open up some new doors for him in the weather service. He is also going to get his information together from the Air Force and see if he can transfer any of it to a college degree and see what else he needs to get his Bachelors of Science, so hopefully he won't need much to get this done.
Jen - Well started a new job on Feb 7th, and so far so good. I have two projects so far one is for an Oil company up here and another one is for the State of Alaska for a health system. So far I think I am doing okay, since it has been about 4 years since I have done most of the stuff they are having me do. I am enjoying my work so far. Only draw back is after 7 years I now have to commute and dress up for an office, NOT caring for that much lol. I miss my jammies and lunch time showers lol.
I have been helping out at the vintage snow machine races with scoring races and registration, it is pretty fun, but boy is it hard to do with 8 or 9 guys all whizzing by at the same time, and trying to capture all the numbers and in which order they are crossing the starting/finish line in as they go by. I am now the president of the Colony Softball Booster Club this year and in charge of our teams banner sales, so if any of you would like to sponsor the team for $25, $50, $100 or $500 dollars don't be shy just let me know and I will immortalize your name on a very cool banner, LOL.
Kodiak - She says her life has been turned up side down and is not sure she is liking being put in her crate all day until Krista gets home at 2pm to let her out to run around. She is wondering why she she can't roam around the house and there is no one to give her treats, play with her and scratch her tummy when it is itchy. The only good side is when Daddy is home she gets to sleep on the bed with him, or play outside with him when he is out there working around the house.
Well that is about it for us. Not much else going on. We miss you all!!
