Well, we have been busy, as usual! The girls are involved in softball still, Krista is pitching and doing pretty well for a first timer, she gets better with every game and her batting is getting better. Monday night she hit a sweet hit to the out field, it was AWESOME! We took her to the batting cages and it paid off, I think she surprised herself with the hit.
Krista has also been getting better on her driving, but as Dave learned you still need to pay close attention to her. He was off on Monday and she was driving him around for all his errands, well David got to yakking on the phone as he does often (ha ha) and was not paying attention, and told Krista at the last minute that she was missing the turn they needed, so like an inexperienced driver she jammed on the breaks and tried to make the turn. They almost got rear ended and almost wiped out a light pole. After that David stayed off the phone ha ha ha ha!! They got home and he came down hugged and kissed me and told me they almost died, and then told me what happened, so in Krista's defense I smacked him and told him he can't be on the phone when she is driving ha ha. He said "wow thanks for the sympathy" then laughed. Krista said she realizes now that she probably should have just kept going and found a place to turn around, I guess she will know better next time.
Ash has been keeping score for the varsity team, it is killing her not to be able to play and she is more than ready to get off the crutches and out of the cast. We go to see the doctor on Thursday at 3pm to see if she gets her freedom or not. They are suppose to be going to Fairbanks this weekend so she is hoping she gets to go with out a cast and maybe just a really stiff ankle brace. Dave and I told her not to hold her breath hoping for that one! She hasn't been able to drive or work so she is driving us NUTS! Thank god her boyfriend has been coming and taking her places, or I may have to duct tape her mouth shut so I don't have to listen to the whining! She is moving around a lot better, so that is at least something. The recruiter stopped by to check on her and let us all know that he gets the open job sheet in to his office May 27 so we should know which job she gets to do and her exact date she will be leaving for basic training. She also found out that her and a guy she knows from school will be leaving at the same time, so they talked about signals they could give each other in the chow line to say Hi since male and female recruits are not allowed to talk to each other. He happens to be a friend of ours son so we will all be going down to basic training graduation together, which is kind of cool.
As for Dave and I we are trying to get everything in place for the trip down to the lower 48 this summer, and are excited to see everyone! You all better have NICE weather for us, not the yucky snow stuff you have been getting, I see that for 9 months out of the year up here and don't want to see it during the summer! So you know I have a list a mile long that changes everyday of stuff to get done before we leave, things to make sure we have for the trip, places to stop and see along the way etc. David just shakes his head and says whatever makes me happy, I can make as many lists as I want but he doesn't need them. I told him HA! We will see when he starts packing stuff, he will come around to the list Nazi ha ha ha ha!!!
Well better run! I will write more again soon! Love and miss you all!
