Here is another video that Craig shot at the races this weekend. If you notice at 1:08 a blue sled to the left pops into the screen, that is me. Then at 1:20 I am the sled on the outside that starts the pass and passes all four of them. Watch the video to the end, Craig crashes pretty hard. He actually lost a ski.

Spring has come early
It has been very warm here for the last two weeks. We have been above freezing since the 10th of February. We even hit 51 on the 19th. Needless to say this has just about destroyed the snow here at the house. On the bright side it should help the heating and electric bills. Looks like we should get back to normal temperatures by the end of the week, of course this doesn't make Jen or Krista happy. They both are telling me that spring is here; just keep telling yourself that...lol.
Not much happening this week, except for the big excitement of putting my life on the edge while letting Krista drive! Yes, get off the sidewalk. She hasn't backed the car into the garage yet, maybe she learned her lesson 5 years ago when she backed the Nova into the garage. For those of you that don't know, she started the Nova when she was 10. She never pushed in the clutch, so it ran into the garage. Well she has been driving the cavalier on and off for the last year, but we had taken a break since the roads have been so slick. So we decided to go out this week, she only tried to run one red light and she managed to run one stop sign. Other than that she did good. She is getting good with the clutch, but I am not sure she is a multi-tasker. lol
On the Ashley side.......well I think she has officially gotten senioritis (spelling?). She seems to know everything...hmmmm, I am not sure where she gets that....lol I may be sleeping on the couch after that comment. I do believe when I was 17 I knew everything, but when I turned 18 I realized I didn't know everything when I was 17, but I did at 18. Well that cycle went on for several years until I grew up and realized I don't really know anything.
Krista has an official calendar for how many days until Ashley leaves..... Funny how that works, only about a year ago the girl wanted brothers and sisters and was excited to have a sister, funny how the grass always looks greener on the other side of the fence. Now if you ask her if she would like a sister or brother, she says NO I want to be an only child! I do believe Jen and I used to have the fantasy about being an only child at one point or another growing up LOL. So Krista has the count down to Ashley leaving calendar and Ashley has the count down to freedom calendar, lol, they are both soooooo in for a surprise LOL.
Yesterday we went to the start of the Iron Dog snowmachine race on Big Lake. The Iron Dog is a 2000 mile race to Nome and back to Fairbanks. Anyway the start is on a frozen lake, and Jen really could not get the idea we were going to drive a couple miles out on a lake to watch the start of a race. Andrew and I didn't make her feel much better when we started talking about Ice road truckers falling through the ice. Before the iron dog start, they held a race called iron pup, which is kids riding small 120 cc machines. It was a lot of fun seeing kids as small as four riding those machines. Jen thought it was so cute, to the point she said we should adopt a little boy. She is now grounded!!! I had to send her to the truck. After the start of race we also had a vintage race, now I know you all are probably getting tired of me telling you about this, but this is what we are doing this time of year. The girls keep telling me they enjoy going, and since I really enjoy it, we keep going. I was able to make another podium finish, and Andrew was able to finish the race this time, although he did fall off once. So I think the score is old guys = 2, Andrew = 0. Last week I could hardly walk until around Wednesday, but this week I am not as sore. Anyway here are a few pictures. Hope everyone is doing well, and we miss you.

Back from Kansas City
Made it back from Kansas City late Friday night. Glad to be home, sure missed the girls. Took a tour of the Harley Davidson factory while I was there. Wow! Impressive, I would recommend it if you every go through the area. The robots building the frames and pressing out the gas tanks were very neat to watch. No cameras are allowed on the tour, so I didn't get any pictures. Played a little poker at the casino while I was there, won one night and lost it the next day. Oh well, had fun. Learned some important things about the COOP program while I was there.
Krista had a dance on the 10th, said she had fun and danced with "Hot Boys". Now I really don't care to hear that, but what is a dad to do. You know since we live in Alaska, cleaning the guns when boys come over doesn't seem to have much of an effect. They will say, "let me run out to my truck and get mine and we can clean them together". THAT IS NOT THE POINT! Lol. There is a picture below of Krista in her dress for the dance.
Ash has been working and doing the workouts for softball. She seems excited about softball season this year, I think it is because she gets to quit her job when the season starts. lol She made everyone a valentines dinner last night. It was very good, the girl can cook! I think she originally was just going to make it for Andrew, but she invited Jen, I and Krista. I took Jen out for Prime rib dinner on Saturday night for Valentines day dinner.
On to the Valentines day excitement. For actual Valentines day I took the girls all to the Vintage snowmobile races. Now that is a Valentines day to remember! Actually they really enjoy the races. We were able to find a second machine for Andrew (Ashleys boyfriend) to ride. We picked up a 1974 ski-doo tnt 340 on Saturday. We spent most of the day getting it running for him to ride on Sunday. It hadn't been started for several years, so it took some time. He rode a couple of laps before it broke down. It was a minor breakdown, just lost the gas line. We were able to repair it for him to make another race. Once again it broke down, this time he actually broke the gas tank itself. He was done for the day. I think it must have been a karma thing for him. Before the race he was talking how it was in the bag, that he was just racing a bunch of old guys. The old guys = 1, Andrew = 0. lol There is a picture of him about to fall off on the black machine below. That was how his day went. I had a much better day this week, no broken parts and one trophy = a good day. At the bottom there is a video link to youtube. Craig had a helmet video cam, it shows how rough the track is. Enjoy.

Ever wonder what it looks like from a racers point? Well Craig (race organiser) put on a Helmet came and filmed it. Below is one of the races they did.

It would have to dump snow now!!! LOL
Well David is off in Kansas for work and has been gone a week. The girls and I have been eating Chinese food till it comes out our ears. But wouldn't you know it, he leaves and it starts dumping snow and blowing up a storm here in Palmer LOL. I had to get the plow out and plow the driveway, hmmmm I do believe that was suppose to be his job LOL, oh well good thing I am no wimp! Got the driveway plowed and now need to bake some stuff for a superbowl party we are going to tomorrow. Should be a lot of fun!
David has been learning all kinds of good stuff at coop school, the girls and I just tease him that they are just teaching him how to Lie better LOL, cause you know that is his job, "Professional Liar" LOL. He has been having a good time and said he is learning alot, so that is a good thing. I rented him a car for the weekend so he said he finally got some decent food and got to go to Cabela's and played some poker, man am I jealous!!!! I love going to the casino, sadly one of the things I miss about being in the lower 48! OH WELL LOL, I told him to win big, and apparently he didn't do to badly lol. He told me it is a good thing I wasn't there cause I would've just lost all his winnings, I'm not sure that probably isn't true lol.
Well one more week and then he has to come back to reality, where he gets to plow the driveway! He comes home friday the 12th and the girls and I miss him a ton, we will be glad to have him home. As for me not much going on except running the girls here there and everywhere, cleaning house, cooking, working, doing laundry, shopping for dresses for a school dance, you know "mom stuff" LOL. I have parent teacher conferences that I need to go to and softball stuff that needs to get done, oh yeah did I tell everyone, I am the Vice President of the Softball Booster club, and on the senior recognition committee, the fund raising committee and the uniform committee, so never a dull moment LOL.
Well better run, got to finish cleaning and get stuff ready for the party tomorrow! Miss everyone a ton!!!
