Ashley's Softball season begins and ends with the first game.

Well Ashley played her first game of the season tonight, which unfortunately is her last game of the season. She Made a sweet hit at bat that sent the ball deep into the outfield. She has put extra emphasis on hitting this year and it made a difference. She made it to second base. The next pitch she stole third base, now this is where the night takes a turn. She slid into third and her foot went under the base and her body went over the base essentially breaking her leg right at the ankle. She screamed very loud and was in a lot of pain. X-rays at the hospital confirmed the fracture. She was in a lot of pain, but I think the fact that her senior year of softball was over was putting her in more pain. She is very disappointed and worried about finals in school. Now she has to walk on the stage at graduation on crutches. The hospital could not put a cast on it this evening, partly due to the swelling and the fact that she needs to see an orthopedic surgeon in the morning to see how to proceed from here. The Dr. said 4-6 weeks in a cast for sure. So that is how our evening went, just hope everyone else had a better night than us.

Here is Ash in the hospital being a little disappointed.
